I tried to install all software updates available, all but iTunes worked, for that I get a download error 102. I ran Disk Utility and checked permissions, got like 10-20 errors, ran repair permissions and it said it fixed them, but when I checked again, it looks like they're all still there. I can search Google successfully but, can't open the page of any results. Most websites can't be reached, I got YouTube to open, but the page was blank, minus some grey boxes where video thumbnails should be, 's retail area seems to work fine but, I can't even get into the Apple Support pages. I used Disk Utility in recovery to erase the hard drive and then reinstalled OS Mountain Lion, but for some reason it seems to have lots of problems. MacBook Pro 13" Retina early 2013 lost power during update Hello, I have been trying to fix a 13" MacBook Pro Retina early 2013 that was shut down during an update by a friend. NOTHING HELPS!!! Appreciate your help!!" 108 1 I guess I need further digging and reinstalling also does not help.Ive checked attributes/permissions, made a copy and reset them via BATCHMOD.app that does this in batch.I tried giving it every permission in the security settings. PART 3: Just installed an OSX 12.5.1 latest update. Just keeping my fingers crossed and I hope I wont have to buy the new Pro Tools. Monterey 12.3 installed, trying to update to 12.5, because this time nothing from the past fixes have helped: PTPrefs clean, reinstall etc.I have no idea if PT is gonna run after the update. when needed to create a new session - I simply can not do it.Running Pro Tools 2020.12 without major issues, even its not listen as being supported on the charts. I was avoiding the issue altogether, but. Choose a folder for importing the audio ("open" grayed out)This is terrifyingly inconvenient! The last time Ive had this has made me literally wait for auto backup save (these worked somehow), before closing the session, otherwise I would lose everything made.Save normally ("save" button grayed out).Pretty much same as reinstalling and waiting for tons of plugins to validate again.Everything seems to work normal, until you decide to: I was able to once fix the issue by saving/deleting/rebuilding/loading all the settings via PT PREFS app and that was the only way that helped me. But I had a new error appear a few months ago. Original issues described by me in an online community: A lot has changed since Snow Leopard lol, but honestly since the new OS came out. I use an M1 ARM Mac Mini 2020 16/512 and look for a way to safely reinstall the system. Updating from 12.1 or 12.3 to 12.5.1 did nothing. I can not save anything - the "SAVE" or "SAVE AS" buttons are greyed out and unclickable. But later I have confirmed the system to be having corrupt permissions of some sort. Monterey OS no longer saves ?!?!? (M1Mini2020) Hello there!īelow was my original posting onto the audio forums, because I have found this issue while working in Pro Tools. Has anyone experienced this and have any insight short of reinstalling the OS from scratch and the applications? I've also tried disk repair and other utilities to see if it would find something with no luck. It seems like its a permission issue of some sort with my primary account but I can't quite figure out how to locate it. This has it's own issue as some of my licensed software isn't licensed for the installuser account and I have all kinds of barking and and startup complaints from the software that autostarts. To work around it I've created another account called install user that I use to perform some installs. The problem with this is that some software like Native Instruments uses a support program to track and update their apps and that one doesnt work. If I were to download the version directly from the site instead of using the check for update that usually works but not always. What is really strange is that some programs don't have an issue and others do. I've also seen people talking about a corrupt plist file by lexar (which I don't have) that when deleted fixed the problem. I know the second on happens sometimes when the installation archive is damaged. No sensible error message other that there was an Error. It will download the update and then try to install only to fail with: The issue is related to running updates from some programs internally using a "check for update" option. I'm hoping that someone has some insight into a problem that I'm having on my mac (10.11) that I can't seem to resolve.
